UKWelder FAQ - Knowledgebase

Promoting your own companies products or services

To avoid other site users being misled into thinking that the advice they are
receiving is totally independent, members who have a vested interest in any
products or services that they recommend or promote in their posts, must
declare that interest at the time of posting

This declaration should appear at the bottom of your post.

eg:   Username is an employee of XYZ welding:
Username is actively engaged in the selling of XYZ welding products.

The exception to this rule is when you are offering practical advice about
a product or service that your are involved with, and are not actively
promoting or recommending that product or service.  In this case you
do not need to declare an interest.

eg:   Another site user asks a technical question about your product.

Please note that we do take breaches of this site rule very seriously and
will take the appropriate action against any transgressors, including
possible naming and shaming,  written complaints to employers and
legal action for deception.

If you are unsure about your comments, please ask first before posting.
