Hi all,

Thanx from Dangerous Dougy biggrin.gif

I'm on the job right now (sort of)and it's meant to start ramping up around August time but most of the welding will be just tie ins etc as all the modules are coming from middle east and as far as I know there a only 2 site built tanks but that could and probably will change

Hi Dougy.
I have no idea who is recruiting but I doubt it very much that Petrofac will recruit directly for the black trades etc.
I was right about the tank situation as well !!!
I'll see what I can find out but Petrofacs number is 01224 247000.

Hi forum, first post (yippee). Im looking for some info regarding the Sullom Voe job which is gonna be manning up around Aug/Sept time. I thought Petrofac were going to be recruiting welders but it seems its not the case , and that it will be subcontracted out to an Aberdeenshire contractor (so i was told). does anybody know who will be recruiting the welders? Plus will i need my own certs or will it just be testing out. I dont have certs as ive been with babbys for a long time, but would get them if needed. any info would be great...

Enterprise are doing the welding at Sullom Voe for the BP site, with quite a bit of work for all trades coming up in the next couple of months on a 3 & 1 rotation. Petrofac are running the Total project (next to the Oil Terminal at Sullom Voe) There a couple of hundred guys up atm, with a further 300-400 required in the coming months.

Am working for Petrofac offshore at moment, and got contract through few weeks ago.

You'll b working 3weeks on, 1week off. Traveling home on Tuesday, then back Tuesday for starting back at work Wednesday.

Basic hours of 38 a week, plus 38 overtime.

Craftsman grade A pay- 13.90 OT@1.5-20.85 OT@2-27.80 nightshift-18.53

Tea breaks-10mins paid, lunch 30mins unpaid.

Seems a rubbish deal really. Hope this helps someone
