Hi Connollyd6, I bought a diesel ranger 305 a couple of years ago, its a fantastic machine. I mostly use flux core or stick as I do plant repair. I did set up the Ln25 (wire feeder) for alloy when i got it first but now i just use the feeder for steel welding jobs. The feeder is amazing, I still find it hard to believe the amount of metal you can lay down, the flux core is brilliant for positional work and you don't have to stop to change rods. The generator has an output of 10 KW so if I get an alloy job in I plug in a synergic mig 270 amps. I have used it for scratch start tig but only up to 160 amps. The stick mode is great, very crisp easy to use and has handled any rods I have fed it. Lincoln do a dedicated tig add on module, but its a lot of cash and just gives you HF. I have tig machines so I could plug in to the power supply. The only probs I have had are with the diesel filter, I changed it for a racor unit and its been fine since. The machines doors are a bit flimsy but have not been a problem, the control panel is well laid out and easy to use. |All in all I would give it 11 ex 10.

hi, EW240G made by KOVO machinery is ok for TIG welding? I heard of that it can do once the welding output reach 170A above.
