> Threads on 10N31 collet body

Does anybody know what is the thread (both type and designation) on the 10N31 collet body, both on the side that screws into the weld torch body and the one onto which the ceramic gas nozzle screws into.

I wonder if anyone has a dimensioned drawing of the 10N31 collet body or if refers to some standard (e.g. ISO/AWS/etc).

3/8X32" SAE
Not a standard or common available size.

3/8"x32tpi is a standard size in the "Model Engineer" range. Any decent stockist should be able to source.

It's not a standard size in general engineering circles, I have no idea about modeling engineering. We had to order "Special Size, HSS Hand Tap, 3/8" Size, 32 Threads per Inch, Taper" so I can only go on that. It's unlikely you would be able to walk in a shop and buy this size tap without ordering first.

3/8 x 32tpi is UNEF (unified extra fine) and like lots of metric fine threads neither common or properly rare. Dunno what thread size the ceramic end of a 17/18/26 sized collet body is but i'm betting it'll be unified, the internet suggests both 13/32 UNS (unified special, no mention of pitch) and 7/16 x 16 UNS? Obviously gas lens bodies are different at that end and FWIW 9/20 torches are threaded 5/16 x 24 UNF

Measured my ceramic mounts and with thread gauge and mic.
Pete is spot on, as usual.

The non standard thread is for the standard ceramic which, as Pete says, is 13/32 and is 16tpi
( This equates to a 16 tpi cut on a 10mm diameter if that's not too perverse)

Gas lens is 3/4 -16tpi UNF which is a standard UNF size.

True its not standard but i managed to buy one without difficulty for this exact purpose. The Model engineer bit seems strange but its the range its listed in, they have to call them something i suppose.
