Anyone used these wee sets recently?see them for sale in lidl..i used one years ago but wasnt up too much..anyone used them for car repairs ?seem cheap enough but obviously a solid wire mig set is better..

They have too much penetration for car bodies. Usually the wire is poor quality and doesnt feed well and the arc is erratic so even on thicker plate they dont perform well. Changing them to gas shielded means changing the polarity and somehow controlling the gas...solenoid and new torch.

You could probably hire a MIG set and do the job
