Just out of interest can anyone tell me how long an ASME 1X test certificate lasts without actually doing any welding to it? The reason i ask is because i have tested out, and the company say i may not be required for at least 6 month or more. Strange i know but there you are.

Only valid for 6 months if no welding performed.

It depends on the company you test with some are 6 months, some are two years.

The request was for ASME IX and there is no 2 years - 6 months max.

six months without stamp. two years if stamped(within that 6 month period) and theoretically only one stamp needed. there's wee spaces on back of cert of em.but... if yer in the u.s.a i think its indefinite till you fuk up an get sloppy. high pressures high pressure :) bigger bang .... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Valid for six months only - require evidence of continually welding the process within a six month period - revalidates for six months at a time.
no stamp required - NDT report with the relevant information
ASME IX ...
