Hi everyone. Just wanted to get people's experiences as to whether anyone has come across this problem with any auto helmet or lens.
The centre of the lens is the proper shade as set (ie 11), but the outside 20 mm is at about shade 8.
It's a brand new welding helmet and cost 300 euro plus. I have used it twice.
Any info is appreciated.

That's what I thought. So I contacted the manufacturer and sent pictures of the lens looking through it. They agreed and sent a brand new helmet and told me keep the old one. Now I have two. But the second one is the same only the lighter area is not as big. This is a big name company and I'm just looking for other people's experiences on what they have seen. Thanks.

Yes tried new batteries. Tested both sets with a multimeter.

Sorry about this thread hijack....

Not been on the forum for a while......

I have a Speedglas 9100XX that's playing up.
Cannot set the shade value, if sensitivity is higher than 2 the shade flickers. I can still weld as the shade happens to be about right (low amp tig on stainless steel).
Its expensive to change the auto filter, is there any more reliable types out there.
Ive changed the batteries and I keep the helmet in the house not in a cold and damp workshop.
