Good evening, new to this forum so please bear with me if this question has been asked before. I work for an M&E projects company, we have a few welder scattered across the UK. Mostly Metal Arc, MIG and TIG. I am not a welder so again bear with me, but i have been tasked with setting up the welder register for the company and standardising the welding competency. With regard to welders competency , would it be beneficial if the company stated that we must use for example a BESCA welding centre for all our re-training, is this something that is standard practise ?

Guessing that your main line of income, is HVAC related then ? When I was doing a bit of HVAC, my ASME9, SMAW,6GR tended to cover me. Maybe that was down to the clients ignorance, or something.......As I remember, you need guys to test to the NJIEC standard, so that you're covered for HVAC.
