Any advice?

If a client has not specified a welding standard am I ok using both ASME and BS on the same job? as long as the WPS and PQR are suitable for the job that is being welded?

If the client has not specified a standard, how can you do any work, welding or otherwise? What standard are you expected to meet? I could say weld this then in a months time say 'you never welded that to such n' such a standard, so I'm not paying you' - if the work failed in service and god forbid someone was hurt, then you would be looking at at prison sentence. Your choice!

I Work in a small firm where standars have not been a major though in the past, I am fighting constantly to ask the necessary people to give me this information at the beginning of each job but getting no where I think a lot of the time the client has no clue either!
