Good evening Gentlemen.......and if their are any ladies to good evening too you.


I have been approached, about welding phosphor bronze, its a butter up and grind down, due to wear and tear of what I am to believe is some sort of gear box, (if you want me to be more specification (I will get back too you)

I have advised that this can be done on either mig, and tig... Am I correct in that assumption?
Or would it be best welded using the brazing (oxy-acetylene)

I am shoot with one hand behind my back. (dont shoot the messenger)

To be honest I recall a big job repairing a massive propellor down in Dover....but I cant remember how we did it....and someone has borrowed my notes

is it bronze onto bronze or a bronze overlay onto a cast iron or steel?
