Can anyone tell me the border between MIG (Process Nr.131) and MAG (Process Nr. 135).

as in how much Active or Reducing gas can be added to Argon or Helium before it is called MAG? Is it 1% or is the amount in PPM?

I dont know what the official definition is but I would expect it depends on the gas....1% Oxygen would make it active....and 2% CO2 has a profound effect on stainless welds.

Are you questioning the purity level and would the level of impurities make it active?

The Argon should have a purity standard, so many noughts (cant remember how many)
